Editorial team

Sommercard is an independent comparison of summer cards in the Austrian Alps. We help families and hikers find the card that puts cable cars in the price of their holiday.

About us

We compare 23 summer cards from five Austrian states. For each card we calculate the price for a specific group, explain the cable car rules and link to the official lists of partner accommodation. We are not affiliated with any tourist board, cable car company or accommodation.

Editorial policy

Sources

Card details come from the official websites of regions, tourist boards and cable car companies; 23 of 23 cards are verified this way. Where an official source does not state something, such as a fee set by the accommodation, we say so next to the detail. We list sources and the date checked for every card.

Fact-checking

Before publication, a second person on the team checks every article: prices, season dates, cable car rules and links are compared with the official sources.

Updates

Summer card conditions change every season. Regions usually publish new prices between March and May; we then update the data and texts. Older details are clearly marked with the year.

Corrections

When we find a mistake or you point one out, we correct it. Write to us at matej@sommercard.eu.

Independence and funding

Nobody pays us to include cards or to rank them. The order in the catalogue is set by the price for your group and the cable car rules. If we use partner (affiliate) links in the future, for example for booking accommodation, we will label them clearly and they will not affect the order of cards.

Photos and artificial intelligence

Landscape and people photos on this site are for illustration, and some are created with artificial intelligence. Blog illustrations depict real places but were generated by artificial intelligence, so details may differ from reality. The people in them are not real. Texts and figures are always checked by a person against official sources.

Translations

The language versions are based on the same verified data as the original Czech version. The translations are produced with the help of AI tools; figures, dates and conditions are not translated but taken directly from the data.

Policy last updated on 18 October 2026. More about the card data: How we check the data.
