Zillertal Activcard 2026: price, cable cars, Hintertux and the family discount
Zillertal Activcard 2026: prices for 3 to 12 days, one of 10 cable cars a day, six pools, train and buses. Family discount, when kids ride free and a family example.

The Zillertal Activcard is a summer card you buy for the whole Zillertal valley. Each day it gives you one of ten cable cars (at Hintertux up to the Sommerbergalm), entry to one of six swimming pools, and the train and buses. Anyone can buy it. And thanks to the family discount, children travel free with their parents.
Zillertal Activcard prices 2026
| Validity | Adult | Child |
|---|---|---|
| 3 days | €95.50 | €48 |
| 6 days | €137 | €68.50 |
| 9 days | €186 | €93 |
| 12 days | €233 | €117 |
- The child price applies to children born 2011–2019; children born 2020 or later travel free.
- Family discount: if the parents buy two adult cards, children born 2011 or later travel free (with ID).
- There is a €2 deposit for the chip card, refunded when you return the card undamaged.
- The card is valid on consecutive days.
What a family pays
Two adults with children aged 8 and 11 for 6 days: €274, i.e. just the two adult cards. Without the family discount it would be €411. A single parent with two children does not get the family discount, because it requires two adult cards.
What’s included
- One ride up and down a day on one of 10 cable cars. It is one cable car per day, not each one separately.
- Six outdoor swimming pools, one entry per day.
- Public transport in the Zillertal, including the Zillertalbahn train, but not the steam train.
- Discounts of at least 10% at partners in the valley.
The ten cable cars
Spieljochbahn (Fügen), Rosenalmbahn (Zell am Ziller), Gerlossteinbahn (Hainzenberg), Isskogelbahn (Gerlos), Dorfbahn Königsleiten, Penkenbahn and Ahornbahn (Mayrhofen), Finkenberger Almbahnen, Eggalm Bahnen (Lanersbach) and the Hintertux Glacier. All are on the map on the card page.
Hintertux in summer
On the Hintertux glacier the Activcard is only valid up to the Sommerbergalm (2,100 m), so not up onto the glacier itself. The ride from Sommerberg to the Gefrorene Wand (3,250 m) costs an extra €41 per adult. And because you have one cable car a day, a day at Hintertux means no other cable car that day.
Season and where to buy the card
- The card is valid from 23 May to 26 October 2026.
- Online (myZillertal.at) it is sold for the period 20 June – 4 October 2026.
- On site you can buy it at the valley stations of open cable cars, at the stations in Jenbach, Mayrhofen and Zell am Ziller, at tourist information offices and at selected hotels. Ticket offices sell it from 4 pm the day before the first day of validity.
Dogs are only allowed on buses and cable cars with a muzzle and on a lead.
Activcard or another card?
The Activcard suits you if you stay anywhere in the Zillertal or camp. Compared with other bought cards it is good value for families:
| Bought card | Family of four, 6 days |
|---|---|
| Zillertal Activcard | €274 |
| Kitzbüheler Alpen Summer Card | €395 |
| Montafon Brandnertal Freizeit-WildPass | €413 |
If you want to ride cable cars several times a day, you will find cards with unlimited cable cars that are free with accommodation, for example in the Alpbachtal right next to the Zillertal.
Summary
The Zillertal Activcard is simple and, for two-parent families, very cheap: children travel free, and a cable car, pool and train are included. Just keep the one-cable-car-a-day rule in mind. Work out the price for your group on the card page; other cards in Tyrol are in the Tyrol region.
