- From Auffach in the Wildschönau take the Schatzbergbahn gondola via the middle station up to the top station.
- Past small ponds you reach the Schatzberg summit cross. From here the view stretches from the Zillertal to the Berchtesgaden Alps, into Alpbach and to the Wilder Kaiser.
- The path continues towards the Hahnkopf and down to the snowmaking pond with benches.
- Past the Gern-Alm you return to the top station. The loop is 4.1 km long and takes 1:30 h.

Huts
The Schatzbergalm and the Gipfö Hit are on the loop, both with regional cooking.
To the summit
The loop can be extended to the summit of the Gern or further to the Joel.
With the card
The Alpbachtal Card covers the lifts in the Alpbachtal and the Wildschönau without limit. Taking a bike or dog costs €5.

Yes. Included with the Alpbachtal Card: Schatzbergbahn gondola over both sections, up and down. Without the card it costs €27.50 per adult and €13.80 per child (child fare), so a family of 2 + 2 saves €82.60.
