Route description

  1. From Alpbach ride the gondola only to the middle station. From the Kriegalm meadows path A40 leads up to the Kohlgrubenalm.
  2. Continue on path R30 through heathland to the ridge between the Loderstein and the Wiedersberger Horn, and along it to the Panoramaweg junction.
  3. The Panoramaweg brings you to the Hornalm. A short steep climb to the summit follows (100 m).
  4. From the summit descend on path R40 to the Dauerstoa Alm and the top station, then ride the gondola down. 6.5 km, 3 hours and 774 m of climbing in total.

Good to know

For children

At the top station are the Lauserland adventure playground and the Lauser-Sauser alpine coaster (paid separately).

Shorter option

If you'd rather not climb from the middle station, ride all the way up and climb to the summit on path R40 in the opposite direction.

With the card

The Alpbachtal Card covers the lifts in the Alpbachtal and the Wildschönau without limit. Taking a bike or dog costs €5.
