SalzburgerLand Card 2026: price, cable cars and when it pays off
SalzburgerLand Card 2026: prices for 6 and 12 days, which cable cars and attractions are included, where to buy it and a worked example of when it pays off.

The SalzburgerLand Card is a summer card you buy for the whole state of Salzburg. For €103 for 6 days (adult, 2026 season) you get free entry to around 180 attractions: cable cars, pools and lakes, gorges and waterfalls, castles, museums, scenic roads and a steam train. Anyone can buy it, wherever they stay. But you can use each cable car and each thermal spa only once while the card is valid.
SalzburgerLand Card prices 2026
| Validity | Adult | Child (4–15) |
|---|---|---|
| 6 days | €103 | €52 |
| 12 days | €129 | €65 |
- Child price from the 4th to the 16th birthday. The age on the first day of your holiday counts.
- Children under 4 don’t get a card. Attractions often let them in free or at a reduced price, so check on the spot.
- Family bonus: the third and every further child aged 4–15 gets the card free, also for single parents. The free card still has to be added to the order.
- There are no discounts for seniors, students or people with disabilities. Groups of 20 or more have their own terms.
A family of 2+2 (children aged 8 and 11) pays €310 for 6 days and €388 for 12 days. A couple pays €206 or €258.
How long the card is valid
You can buy and use the card from 1 May to 1 November 2026. It starts with the first scan at an attraction, not on the day you buy it, so you can order in advance.
- The 6-day card is valid for 6 calendar days including the first. First use on Sunday at 13:30 means it’s valid until Friday at 23:59.
- The days don’t have to be consecutive, but everything has to fit into the 6 or 12 days from first use.
- You can’t extend a 6-day card to 12 days. If you’re staying 7 to 12 days, buy the 12-day card straight away: it costs only €26 more.
- At the start and end of the season (May, October) some cable cars and pools run a reduced service.
Which cable cars are included
Over 20 summer cable cars across the state are included, each once up and down while the card is valid. Among them:
- Flying Mozart in Wagrain and the neighbouring Grießenkar in Flachau,
- Gastein Valley: your choice of one of the Schlossalm, Stubnerkogel or Graukogel lifts (new for 2026),
- Wildkogel in Neukirchen and Bramberg,
- Weißsee Gletscherwelt in Uttendorf,
- Asitzbahn in Leogang (“Berg der Sinne”),
- lifts in Obertauern, Großarl, Filzmoos, Zauchensee, Werfenweng, Lofer and Rauris,
- the Gosaukammbahn to the Zwieselalm and the Donnerkogelbahn in Annaberg.
The exceptions are in the Lungau: you can ride the Großeckbahn in Mauterndorf, the Sonnenbahn in St. Michael and Katschberg-Aineck more than once.
What’s not included
The SalzburgerLand Card doesn’t cover some well-known sights in the region: the Kitzsteinhorn, the Schmittenhöhe in Zell am See, the Kaprun high-mountain reservoirs, the Eisriesenwelt ice cave in Werfen, the SchafbergBahn and boats on the Wolfgangsee, the Zwölferhorn cable car in St. Gilgen and boats on the Zeller See. For Zell am See and Kaprun, the local card that comes with your accommodation is better value; see our article on the Zell am See-Kaprun summer card.
In the 2026 season, the Geisterberg lift in St. Johann-Alpendorf and the Grafenberg in Wagrain aren’t partners either.
More attractions: pools, gorges and roads
- Over 40 pools and lakes, such as the Erlebnisbad in Saalbach or the lidos in Zell am See. At thermal spas (Alpentherme Gastein, Felsentherme) a 4-hour entry is included; a full day costs extra.
- Gorges and waterfalls: the Krimml Waterfalls with the Krimmler WasserWelten, Liechtensteinklamm, Kitzlochklamm, Sigmund-Thun-Klamm in Kaprun, Seisenbergklamm and Lammerklamm.
- Castles and museums: Hohenwerfen Castle, Mauterndorf Castle, Salzwelten Salzburg (book a time slot in advance with the promo code from the FAQ).
- Transport: the Pinzgauer Lokalbahn from Zell am See to Krimml and the Taurachbahn steam train in the Lungau. Other public transport isn’t included.
- Toll roads: the Postalmstraße, Kolm-Saigurn in Rauris and Forstau.
Grossglockner or a day in Salzburg city
The card gives you either one drive on the Grossglockner High Alpine Road or 24 hours at the attractions in Salzburg city. The city includes the Untersbergbahn, the zoo and Hellbrunn Palace. Once you use the card in Salzburg city, the Grossglockner is no longer available, and vice versa.
On the Grossglockner, everyone in the car needs a card. The toll for a car is €46.50 (summer 2026). Plan your day in Salzburg within the first five days: the 24 hours in the city don’t extend the 6 days.
Where to buy the SalzburgerLand Card
- Online at salzburgerland.com, paying by credit card or PayPal. The card arrives by email within 10 to 30 minutes as a PDF and for your phone’s wallet.
- At tourist offices and at accommodation across the state. The price is the same everywhere.
Good to know:
- The card is personal and not transferable. Everyone needs their own, including children with a free card.
- Orders can’t be cancelled or exchanged, not even if you’re ill.
- On your phone you’ll need a charged battery. A printed PDF is safer.
Map of attractions
The map on the card page shows all attractions and their locations. The official overview is on salzburgerland.com. A printed map with all partners is free at many accommodations and tourist offices, and you can order the brochure free online.
When the SalzburgerLand Card pays off: a worked example
Example of six days for a family of 2+2 (children aged 8 and 11), using the attractions’ 2026 summer prices:
| Trip | Without the card |
|---|---|
| Flying Mozart, up and down (adult from €25, child from €15) | €80 |
| Krimml Waterfalls and WasserWelten (€15.90 / €7.90) | €47.60 |
| Grossglockner High Alpine Road, one car | €46.50 |
| Total for three trips | €174.10 |
| 6-day cards for the whole family | €310 |
So three big trips cover about 56% of the card price. For the card to pay off, the family needs roughly two more cable cars and a pool or a gorge in those six days. With a trip every day that’s realistic; on a relaxed lake holiday, probably not.
A couple pays €206 for the cards. The same three trips cost €128.30 without the card, so the couple needs about three more paid attractions, for example two cable cars and a castle.
Who the card suits
- Day-trippers with a car who want to see different parts of the region in a week: Krimml, Gastein, Hochkönig and the Lungau.
- Families with three or more children, thanks to the family bonus.
- Anyone without accommodation that includes a local card. If you stay with a partner of the Joker Card in Saalbach or the Nationalpark Sommercard in the Hohe Tauern, the nearby cable cars are free and you only need the SalzburgerLand Card for trips further afield.
It’s less useful if you want to ride the same mountain again and again. Each cable car counts only once, while local cards that come with accommodation include unlimited rides. For other cards nearby, see the Salzburg region.
Summary
The SalzburgerLand Card costs €103 for 6 days and €129 for 12 days; children pay €52 or €65. It covers around 180 attractions across the state, but each cable car only once and the Grossglockner only instead of a day in Salzburg city. It pays off for active day-trippers with a car who fit in five or more paid attractions in six days. Work out the price for your group on the card page.
