- The Kanzelbahn takes you from Lake Ossiach up to the Kanzelhöhe.
- From there an easy path crosses meadows and passes huts to the summit of the Gerlitzen at 1,911 m. Anyone of average fitness can manage it.
- From the summit you see Lake Ossiach below you and, on a clear day, the Wörthersee, the Julian Alps and the Karawanks.
- Ride down on the new Kanzelbahn II gondola to the Kanzelhöhe and from there on the Kanzelbahn I to the lake.

Kaiserschmarrn
There are several huts on the Gerlitzen. The lift operator recommends a stop for Kaiserschmarrn or strudel.
Combine with a boat trip
You can reach the lift by boat across Lake Ossiach. The operator offers a combined ticket.

The Kärnten Card covers each lift once a day up and down.

Is the lift free with the Kärnten Card?
Yes. Included with the Kärnten Card: Kanzelbahn I up and down off-peak; riding down from the summit on the Kanzelbahn II gondola would cost even more. Without the card it costs €31.50 per adult and €18 per child (child fare), so a family of 2 + 2 saves €99.
