Route description

  1. The Hahnenkammbahn takes you from the centre of Kitzbühel to Hochkitzbühel in eight minutes. The cabins bear the names of the winners of the famous Streif downhill.
  2. Past the Hahnenkamm Stüberl you reach the Ehrenbachhöhe and then climb along the western slope of the Steinbergkogel. Behind you the view opens up to the Wilder Kaiser.
  3. A wide gravel track continues onto the Jufen ridge. By the Brunn reservoir you have most of the way behind you, and a last stretch with no real climbing brings you to the Pengelstein restaurant.
  4. The peaks of the main ridge are reflected in the nearby Pengelsteinsee and Hiesleggsee lakes. Return to the Hahnenkamm the same way.
