Route description

  1. The Kitzbüheler Hornbahnen take you from Kitzbühel up to the Alpenhaus at 1,670 m.
  2. Behind the Alpenhaus a wide tarmac path winds uphill. After about 20 minutes you can turn off through the Alpenblumengarten, an alpine garden with 20,000 m² of flowers from around the world.
  3. At the end of the garden continue to the summit cross and, after a short steeper stretch, to the summit (1,996 m). On a clear day you can see the Wilder Kaiser, the Hohe Tauern and, towards Bavaria, the Chiemsee.
  4. Return to the Alpenhaus the same way. If you'd rather not walk, ride down from the summit on the Horngipfelbahn.

Near the summit is the Kids-Kletterpfad climbing trail for children.

Breakfast with a view is served on the summit. Go up in the morning while the air is clearest.
