Route description

  1. The Kohlmaisbahn gondola takes you from the centre of Saalbach up to the top station. Montelino's trail starts right there.
  2. The path runs downhill through forest and across alpine meadows. Along the way are 15 play stations: a spider's web, target throwing, Paula the giant snake, a puppet theatre, a squirrel's nest with a golden nut, a giant slide and a circus ring.
  3. The trail is about 3 km long and ends at the Kohlmaisbahn middle station. There is a water playground and huts with things for children, then you ride the lift down to the valley.

With a pushchair

According to Saalbach the trail is also passable with a pushchair. It only goes downhill, so even the youngest walkers can manage it.

Allow time

The trail is only 3 km, but children will linger at the stations. Officially you should allow at least two hours.

With the card

The JOKER CARD covers Saalbach's lifts without limit, so you can ride up and down as often as you like.
