- The 12er KOGEL gondola starts on the western edge of Hinterglemm and takes you up the Zwölferkogel to around 1,980 m.
- From the top station a scenic path leads to the summit of the Hohe Penhab (2,113 m). From there you can see the Leogang and Lofer Steinberge, the Steinernes Meer and the peaks of the Hohe Tauern.
- From the summit you descend into the cirque to the Seekarsee. Cows and horses graze here, and there is often a snowfield even in summer where children like to cool off.
- You return to the 12er KOGEL top station. If you want to walk more, you can descend via the Ellmaualm to the middle station.

Shoes and poles
The climb to the Hohe Penhab is steep in places. Sturdy shoes are a must, and poles help on the way down.
Motivation for children
The lake and the snowfield are a good goal that makes the climb easier for children.
